The 1977 Porsche 911S Coupe featured here, chassis no. *9117200396* was manufactured in September of 1976 and sold new at Bob Smith Porsche in Hollywood, Calif. on November 16, 1976 to a local movie producer.
In 1987, with 87K miles showing on the odometer, the car was acquired by a lady from Burbank, Calif., who kept the car for the next 30 years. Kathy babied her 911S, driving it only on special occasions, less than 1,500 miles annually, on average.

The factory owner's manual and service book with their merlot-colored leatherette pouch are present, plus about two dozen receipts from Kathy's years of ownership, toalling over $10,000.00 and detailing her Porsche's maintenance. The car's numbers matching engine was rebuilt by a reputable North Hollywood shop with - among other items - new bearings, valves and timing chains, plus a clutch kit, less than 10,000 miles ago. Photographs of the rebuild are included in the history file. More recently, the 911S received new Pirelli tires and a brake job. Accordingly, the car runs and drives like a well-maintained 2.7 should.

Befitting a life-long Californian, the car is rust and accident free. It features straight coachwork and mostly original, well-patinated paint in the desirable Polar Blue Metallic color. apart from a couple of bumps in the front lower valance (see photo above), there are no dings, dents or scratches to report.

Spotlessly clean trunk features the original Josef-Beuys-memorial gray Filzmatte and the factory tool kit, as well as the OG sugar-scoop headlights with their matching painted bezels.

Special-ordered from Porsche as a "low spec - high performance" car, the 911S features black leather sport seats, FUCHS forged light alloy wheels, sport shocks and an 8,000rpm tachometer as its only options. Items like power anything, sunroof, fog lights and passenger-side rearview mirror were expressly deleted on the order form. This is the lightest, most powerful naturally-aspirated 911 you could conceivably order in 1976!

Beautifully preserved cockpit.

Rare, desirable and the ultimate in comfort: Porsche's sport seats! Black leather presents wonderfully.

The rebuilt 2.7 liter makes all the right noises. This 911S is a true pleasure to drive!

This '77 911S is among the last narrow bodied cars built in Zuffenhausen. With its fully galvanized body, standard power brakes, and the factory-revised timing chain guides, it provides a link to the 911SC while retaining the classic Schmali silhouette. An example that's as interestingly optioned as this one must be of particularly strong interest to any real Porsche aficionado.

Don't hesitate, this special 911S might not be around for long . . .
