While parts of the country are still covered by a blanket of snow, car show season is in full swing here in sunny SoCal. Only question is, which shows to attend? Last Sunday, we left home early and headed to Anaheim for the annual "Mid-Winter" Porsche Meet.

With the gates not opened yet when we arrived, this fine example of a Porsche 906 was waiting to get in.

So was this perfectly patinated specimen of Professor Porsche's 356 Speedster. Drive 'em, love 'em, keep 'em "as found" -- that's what we firmly believe!

356s in unusual colors always tickle our fancy.

Just when we were about to leave the Porsche Swap Meet, we noticed this mesmerizing VW "P Wagen" Transporter in the parking lot. Most people wouldn't take a second look, but we knew exactly what to make of the huge muffler peeking out from underneath the tailgate. Yep, this ultimate sleeper featured a Porsche 911 drivetrain in perfect disguise. Imagine cruising at 120mph in 5th!

On our way home, we stopped at Woodley Park in the San Fernando Valley to take in the sights and sounds of hundreds of British classics at the "Queen's English" show.

Jay Leno seems to bring a different car to every show he attends; this time he drove his McLaren F1. With only 69 road-going examples ever built, each one worth several million Dollars, it's not a common sight anywhere. Needless to ssay, it was a true crowd pleaser.

1958 Morgan Plus 4, a real man's car. This one's for sale. Asking price: $35.000.00. Unrestored, patinated cars seem to be worth more than their aseptically over-restored brethren, especially when they posseess a verifiable racing background, like this one.

1927 Bentley, one of the behemoths of a better time. Pricey? You bet!

A few nice brit bikes were in attendance, too, among them this unrestored and lovely patinated Vincent Black Shadow. Just perfect.
